Training for Industry Program
(TIP)
What
is TIP?
The
Training for Industry Program, commonly known as TIP, is a nationally
acclaimed program that has been providing customized training for new and
expanding industry in the State of Oklahoma since 1968.
TIP
is administered by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology
Education. TIP is committed to providing companies with the skilled
employees necessary to compete in today's global market and to maintain
that competitive advantage for years to come.
Mid-Del
Technology Center is a facilitator for the Oklahoma CareerTech Training
for Industry Program (TIP). Through TIP, prospective companies can receive
pre-employment, pre-production, and Industry Specific training to provide
new or expanding companies with a productive, well-trained work force.
Who
Is Eligible for the TIP Program?
The
Training for Industry Program (TIP) is designed for companies now located
in Oklahoma and those wanting to locate here. Training programs are custom
tailored to meet the specific needs of the company. TIP is provided at no
cost to the company, with the only requirement being the creation of
new jobs for Oklahoma.
How
Does TIP Work?
Representatives
from your organization and MDTC will meet to assess the training needs of
your company. We will work with you to design a customized training
program by assessing competencies needed in each job category. A statement
of understanding will be developed that outlines responsibilities, areas
and length of training, number of employees to be trained, and other
special requirements.
